Diana Zeitzer is the Communications Director for Disability.gov, the U.S. federal government’s website for comprehensive information on disability programs and services in communities nationwide. She has worked on the initiative since 2004 through a contract between Disability.gov’s managing partner, the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP), and Concepts Inc., a woman-owned small business located in Bethesda, MD.
Diana's responsibilities include developing and implementing outreach strategies, including the use of social media, to effectively communicate the benefits of Disability.gov to people with disabilities, their families, educators, disability advocacy groups and others. She also works to create strong partnerships with federal, state and local government agencies and nonprofit organizations. In addition, she specializes in writing about disability-focused topics related to employment, business, education and independent living.
Prior to joining Concepts Inc., Diana was an account manager at Widmeyer Communications, an independent public relations firm in Washington, D.C. She also provided communications advice and counsel to the United States International Council on Disabilities (USICD), a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit disability rights organization.
Diana graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in media studies.
